Hello, I’m Carolyn
After working full time for 46 years, primarily in law firms, I wanted to explore my creativity and immersed myself into the world of art. Painting and playing the harp are my retirement passions.
In my younger years, weekends were filled with wilderness camping, canoeing, hiking, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. Being in nature is life in its full glory. The ever-changing shapes, colours and patterns found in nature provides an endless creative playground, a journey to enrich my life.
I am still exploring mediums and styles, however, being inspired by Lawren Harris, I am very much drawn to Canadian landscape paintings in the impressionistic/abstract style.
I happily donate paintings to fund raising events for charities.
With no formal academic training, I have attended workshops and courses with local artists, including Gordon Harrison, Rani Kushwaha, Sylvia Martyn, Crystal Beshara and various artists offering courses through the Kanata Art Club and the Orange Art Gallery. I am grateful for the knowledge, training and guidance which have been passed on to me.
